Higher - A new brand Action Platformer




I'd like to introduce you to Higher 🔥 


It's a 2D roguelike in which you play as Starlight, a hero of light on a quest to discover his identity. To do so, he must dive deep into his own mind and journey through dreamlike worlds that are as beautiful as they are unsettling. He’ll be accompanied by Lumi, a kind-hearted little fairy who helps him open portals leading to Chaos an unstable and unpredictable dimension.

It’s been over two years now since I started developing this project with a passionate team. We've reached a major milestone: Early Access, and we’re proud to finally share a playable version of the game with you on Itch.io.

We’ll also have the honor of showcasing our project at the Toulouse Game Show Springbreak 2025, at Diagora In Toulouse, France. It will be a great opportunity to meet players, gather live feedback, and introduce the unique universe we've created !

I'm offering you a game that captures the essence of several iconic platformers and roguelikes. I’ve been deeply inspired by games like Celeste and Super Meat Boy for their precise dash mechanics and camera work, Ori and the Blind Forest for its artistic direction, and Sonic Mania for its sense of speed.

But more than anything, I aim to create something deeply personal and immersive. This is a game where the music doesn’t just accompany the action it leads it. The soundtrack, composed exclusively for the game’s universe, underscores every key moment and sets the tone for the journey. Visually, the game stands out with a polished artistic direction, vibrant colors, and intricate details that invite exploration through a dreamlike yet unsettling world.

At the heart of the gameplay are unique mechanics that shake up your expectations: a Chaos Mode, where gravity disappears, throws you into a floating space where movement becomes instinctive, unpredictable, and exhilarating. Boss battles, too, are never static they evolve in real time, reacting to the music and camera movements, turning each encounter into a choreographed sequence where the intensity keeps rising.

Other features will enrich the experience, such as an advanced bartering system, allowing you to negotiate with mysterious merchants through a unique interface, or camera inversion mechanics that disrupt your perception and force you to reinvent the way you play.


A demo will be released by early 2026 on Steam and Itch.io. In the most optimistic scenario, we’re aiming for a full release by mid-2027.
